I Over-pack: San Diego

I haven't been on vacation all year, so it was only right that I took a little mini-trip just to reset my mind. This past weekend, some friends and I headed to San Diego for a some fun in the sun. San Diego is a really cute place to visit that, believe it or not, is pretty heavy on the night-life and social scene.

We stayed in the Hillcrest neighborhood at a really swanky AirBnB. We were able to meet up with friends and bar hop and even ended up at a nightclub which is almost like a unicorn move for me, unseen and unheard of. San Diego is known for mostly being a beach city and family vacation hot spot, but even with that information I still did the same thing that I do when I go on any trip: I over-packed. I went for two days total and packed 4-5 outfits and 4 different pairs of shoes.

I use vacations as an opportunity to wear things that I haven't worn or normally wouldn't wear at home, but I always get lazy and wear a bathing suit all day or forget all about my planned costume changes. I try not to overdo it, but my anxiety begins to kick up and I end up throwing extra outfits in my suitcase, just in case. Just in case we go out to party, just in case we go to a nice dinner, or just in case I meet the man of my dreams, I stay ready so that I don't have to get ready. One of the days there, I kept it super casual by throwing on a pair of white high-waist pants and a striped button-down shirt. Somebody, anybody, please send me packing tips before my next vacation. I want to pack light.
