2018 Spring Trend: The White Loafer

I am afraid of white shoes. Deathly afraid.

I think I own one pair of white pumps and I rarely wear them...because...scared. But somehow I have been bitten by the white shoe bug and I am slightly obsessed. Lately I have seen them paired with pastels and denim, keeping in line with a casual chic flavor that I never knew a white shoe could bring.

I used to keep a pair of white sneakers in my closet in my younger years because the crispness of white leather can bring just about any outfit together and I still stand by this. So why not translate that to shoes that weren't designed for casual streetwear?

I have been on the hunt for a pair of white loafers and in my true fiscally responsible fashion format, I found a pair...for less than $40. Can you believe it? I ordered the Sela mule loafers from Franco Sarto in chiffon white and am praying that they fit because the deal was way too sweet to miss. I hate paying full price for anything, even if it is affordable, and these shoes were almost free. Here's how it happened:

I've been eyeballing a white wedge mule from Zara (super affordable) but I still wanted to shop around. I did a quick search on my good good girlfriend, Google, and saw two white mules that I liked. One pair was from Everlane ($160 -I wanted these the most) and the other pair was on Macy's website (Franco Sarto Sela $79 -I also liked how simple these were). Something told me to go back to Google to specifically search for the Sela style and BOOM: there they were on another retailer's site for $31.99 (1 pair left. my size. no tax. no shipping.)

Now if that isn't a steal...I don't know what is.

Stay tuned for how I style the white shoe trend this spring. In the meantime, check out the links to the white shoe options above, including Sela.
