Why Wait?

My favorite type of shopping is shopping without a purpose. Meaning: I don’t have a scheduled event that I need an outfit for, I’m not looking for the missing piece to a perfect outfit already hanging in my closet, and I am not looking for staple items to fulfill whatever closet minimum that fashion requires. I am just being, existing in the moment, and finding GEMS.

I developed this from my mom. You just buy whatever moves your spirit and whip it out when the time calls for it. I like this method because it’s no pressure and always leaves you with something to wear, but sometimes you will find yourself with a closet full of YAAAAAASSSSSS with nowhere “special” enough to wear it to. I’m talking full on fashion hoarding. Why do we wait for seemingly perfect moments to put on the things that we love? Why do we feel like we don’t want to waste an outfit on a place or event that isn’t worth the effort?

We are living and breathing every single day, existing but not wanting to look too good at the wrong moment...which is kind of silly. We may never get that perfect moment, so why wait? I am not talking about putting on a ballgown to go to the gas station (but I wouldn’t judge you if you did, WERK.), but that cute little jacket or boot shouldn’t wait any longer.

I went to dinner in Napa with my favorite cousin and said, “Let’s get dressed up and go to dinner.” I’m glad that she is always down for my antics. She wore her baby pink dress and a white fur stole. I wore the my feather coat (which I’ve had for over two years and never wore) and satin boots.

No more waiting, wear that shit.

Coat - TOV

Boots - Zara (old, check out Ebay by searching for Zara Satin Boots)
