Sneakers Make Me Feel Immature

I love shoes, but I hate sneakers. Ok, ok. I don't actually hate sneakers but I avoid wearing them as much as I can. Fun Fact about Tray: I am 5'9" and have always been tall girl. I loved a pair of all white Nike Air Force 1's back in my teenage years, but as a grown ass bill paying woman, those shoes look ridiculous. Like as if I put the TITANIC ship on my feet and shuffled around. I purchased the Jordan Taxi's in 2013 (remember when we would identify shoes by their colorway only?), not remembering that they were leather weights with laces. I wore them twice before (feeling like a goofy) I parted ways with them. I don't blame the shoes. It was my own doing.
The resurgence of the fanaticism with Timberland boots that happened a few years ago...I wanted to partake. When I was in high-school I rocked several pair, but as a grown ass woman approaching 30 (at the time), I couldn't do it. I hadn't done enough heavy lifting to be able to walk around with cement blocks on my feet all day like I used to.
Now don't get me wrong, I own a few pairs of sneakers that I love, but they honestly only see the light of day maybe 2-3 times a year unless they are for the gym (hey Nike Huarache!). I honestly never feel like my best self (see:final form) or the woman that I truly am, rocking sneakers. They make me feel youthful, but not in a way that I really want.
I also work in an environment where we aren't supposed to wear sneakers or jeans unless it's a Friday. And what if I want to go out on a Friday night after work? I am not going to wear sneakers to dinner or happy hour! So this really cuts down on my opportunity to wear them anyway. Nevertheless, every once in a while, I throw them on and this was one of those days.
